John C. Meehling, Attorney

John C. Meehling is the founder of the firm, serving his clients since 2005.  Mr. Meehling is a lifelong resident of the Miami Valley.  He graduated from Dayton Christian High School, having attended his entire primary and secondary years in the DC school system.  After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management from Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky, John gained invaluable sales and management experience in a variety of industries.  Whether it was sales and marketing, real estate, or running retail stores and restaurants at the General Manager level, John left a trail of successful results wherever he worked.  John's desire to become more of a positive and lasting influence in people's lives, though, led him to go back to school and earn his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Dayton School of Law.  During law school John not only clerked for Southern Ohio's Top Ranked Personal Injury Firm of "Dyer, Garofalo, Mann & Schultz", but after his first year, John was chosen to work as a White House Intern in the White House Travel Office.  In that environment, he answered directly to three attorneys who were responsible for the travel arrangements of the White House Press Corps, among many other things.  The outstanding quality of John's work resulted in him earning a coveted "Blue Pass" from his superiors which gave him unlimited access to the White House grounds (except for the President's residence).

Mr. Meehling is licensed to practice law in all Common Pleas (Felony) and Municipal (Misdemeanor) courts throughout the State of Ohio as well as the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio (Federal) and United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Ohio (Chapter 7 Bankruptcy).  He is a current member of the American and Greene County Bar Associations and is a member of the Greene County Ethics Committee.  He is a past member of the Ohio State Bar Association, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, Dayton Bar Association, and the Dayton Bar Committee for Criminal Justice.  Mr. Meehling also regularly functions as either the Attorney or Guardian ad Litem for indigent children in the Montgomery County Juvenile Court.

Before starting his own firm in 2012, John worked as an attorney for Dayton's prestigious Criminal Law firm of Rion, Rion & Rion, for the highly respected McNamee Law Office which specializes in Family Law, and for the 77-year old law firm of Holzfaster, Cecil, McKnight & Mues located near Oakwood.  These days, Mr. Meehling will routinely appear in 3-4 courts daily...courts from Greene or Montgomery County, to Clark, Clinton, Champaign, Logan, Warren, Butler, or Hamilton counties.  As an attorney with a very unique mix of legal, business, and sales experience, Mr. Meehling is able to successfully litigate or mitigate any case he accepts.

As evidence of that, Mr. Meehling was recently able to aggressively defend a client charged with a felony at a jury trial.  Mr. Meehling's closing argument was so persuasive that after the jury left the courtroom to deliberate, they chose a foreman, reviewed the evidence, and reached a "NOT GUILTY" verdict in a mere 9 minutes.

Let Attorney John C. Meehling use his experience, knowledge and legal skills to aggressively help you with your legal issue.  Call his office today at (937) 874-5219 to make an appointment.

Kari, Legal Assistant

Since joining the firm as a Legal Assistant in July of 2016, Kari has been a vital part of the firm's growth and success.  The married mother of 4 was initially added to the firm because of her Bachelor's Degree in Marketing from Wright State University.  She possesses a unique business skill-set developed from years of working for a Bail Bondsman as well as in Customer Service, Real Estate, and Retail Management.  It quickly became obvious, though, that her skills in scheduling, computer research, and document preparation are second to none.  Her ability to interact in a professional and friendly manner with clients, attorneys, and court personnel alike has made her an invaluable asset and positive representative of the firm.  Her knowledge of the criminal and domestic relations court systems, in addition to her knowledge of Chapter 7 Bankruptcy processes allows her to be very instrumental in helping to educate and manage clients.  Kari's intelligence, energy, common sense, and "lock-down" work product has helped make The Law Office of John C. Meehling, LLC the dynamic and growing firm it is today.

Fulton, Business Manager

Fulton joined the firm in February of 2018 as our business manager.  He is a graduate of Dayton Christian High School, having attended the DC school system for all but two years of his primary and secondary education.  He spent the other two years of his primary education at Temple Christian School.  Fulton is a 1982 graduate of Wright State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management.  He earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) with concentrations in finance, marketing, and quantitative analysis from Wright State University in 1984.

Fulton comes to our firm with over 33 years of Department of Defense (DOD)/United States Air Force (USAF) civilian comptroller experience at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.  During his career at the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), he participated in the development and procurement activities for several Air Force programs such as the B-1B Lancer, F-22 Raptor, F-117 Nighthawk, MC-130H Combat Talon II, AC-130U Gunship, and many Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) sensor projects.  As a comptroller resource, he supported these multi-million/billion dollar weapon system acquisition programs as both a cost analyst or financial manager.

Utilizing his financial experience, Fulton assists with the overall business management practices of the Meehling Law office.  Doing this allows the legal staff of the firm to wholly concentrate their efforts on the legal needs of the firm's clients to ensure they receive the best possible assistance and a successful outcome.
